PANDA Conference
From May 24th to 25th, 2023, the Training Program and Annual Conference of the Pan-Balkan Alliance for Natural Products and Drug Discovery (PANDA) was held at the Institute for Biological Research "Siniša Stanković" National Institute of the Republic of Serbia (IBISS), University of Belgrade, Serbia.
The hosts of the conference were the PANDA Secretariat Shanghai and the PANDA Secretariat Serbia.
Lectures were delivered by professors from the Shanghai Institute of Materia Medica (SIMM), Chinese Academy of Sciences on the following topics:

Research on new methods and technologies for the extraction, separation, and structural identification of natural products and new methods for synthesis and processes in medicinal chemistry.

Assessment of drug efficacy and research on mechanisms of action, preclinical studies of new drug candidates.

Research on metabolism, pharmacokinetics, and drug formulation.
-
Experiences related to technology transfer.
A series of lectures were also given by prominent researchers and professors from Serbia.
Researchers from the Science Sector of the Institute for Medicinal Plant Research "Dr. Josif Pančić" attended the conference: Dr. Katarina Šavikin, Dr. Jelena Živković, Dr. Tatjana Marković, Petar Batinić, PhD candidate, and Natalija Čutović, PhD candidate.
