Single-component teas
Single-component teas are the simplest products made from medicinal herbs, consisting of dried parts of only one plant: root, rhizome, aerial part of the plant, bark, flower, leaf, fruit, or seed. The collection or harvesting of each plant species is done according to a harvest calendar, during the period when the plant is richest in medicinal ingredients. The product line includes more than one hundred single-component teas. Some medicinal herbs are collected from wild flora in ecologically sound areas, while a large number of species are cultivated on plantations, either on the Institute's agricultural estates or in cooperation with individual producers, using modern agronomic measures tailored to the cultivated plants.
The plant material is then subjected to the drying process to inactivate the enzymes that lead to the degradation of active ingredients and to evaporate water, thus eliminating the possibility of bacterial contamination. Further processing is carried out under the supervision of pharmacists according to detailed product specifications, which include particle size, active ingredient content, moisture content, microbiological safety, and the absence of heavy metals and pesticides. Single-component teas are packed in paper bags of appropriate quality and further enclosed in secondary cardboard packaging, ensuring product stability throughout the declared shelf life.
The production of single-component teas complies with the HACCP system requirements. As with other Institute products, before being released to the market, each batch undergoes rigorous quality control to ensure microbiological and health safety, as well as compliance with product specifications, in adherence to legal regulations.
