Sara Mikić was born on May 29, 1995, in Belgrade. She graduated from the Ninth Grammar School "Mihailo Petrović-Alas" in 2014 in Belgrade. She graduated in 2018 from the Faculty of Agriculture of the University of Belgrade, majoring in Phytomedicine, within the study program Plant Production, with an average grade of 9.40. She defended her graduation thesis entitled "The molecular identification of Ilyonectria robusta, a black pine pathogen". She completed her master's studies in 2019, majoring in Phytomedicine. She defended her master's thesis entitled "The examination of the health status of coriander seeds and the possibility of disinfection with the essential oil of mint and laurel" and thereby obtained the title of Master of Agricultural Engineer in the field of Phytomedicine. The experimental part of the master's thesis was done at the Institute for Medicinal Plants Research "Dr. Josif Pančić" in Belgrade, in the laboratory of the Department of Agricultural Research and Development. She enrolled in doctoral academic studies in 2019. at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Belgrade, on the study program of Agricultural Sciences - Phytomedicine. She is a scholarship holder of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia during both the first and second degree of studies.

In the Institute for Medicinal Plants Research "Dr. Josif Pančić", in the Department of Agricultural Research and Development, she was employed in January 2020, and in the same year she obtained the title of researcher trainee. In October 2022, she obtained the title of research associate.

She is a member of the Society for Plant Protection of Serbia. She attended the Online International Training Workshop "Modern Breeding and Cultivation Technology of Vegetables" organized by the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences, Institute of Vegetables and Flowers, Beijing, China (8-26 November 2021).

She is the author and co-author of 6 papers published in domestic and foreign journals. She has 18 papers in collections of abstracts from domestic and international symposia and congresses in which she participated with several poster presentations. 

She speaks, reads and writes English.
